All this while, I thought that kindy is just a... kindy! More to playschool. Where kids play with educational toys. Learn about they should do things like this, not to do things like that, learning moral and communication. And all I can remember masa I tadika dulu-dulu, I enjoy going to the kindy very much sebab ada baaannnyaaakkk toys yang best best! And the food yg teacher masak sangat sedap! So every morning sangat eksaited nk gi tadika sbb nak main and nk makan! And as I an remember belajar tu mmg ada, but just kenal-kenal ABC, kenal nombor gitu-gitu je. Eventho my mother n makciks keep on telling me that I already start reading newspaper at the age of 4, tapi maybe semua tu an extra bonus from Allah to me. Not because my kindy teacher pushed me too much to learn reading.
Now, I nak cerita about Zuzu & Yaya’s kindy. Especially on Zuzu’s part. Masa dia umur 5 tahun dulu, she was with teacher Fiza, which is now is Yaya’s class teacher. So now Zuzu is in 6 years class, with teacher Maggi.
Yang I rasa sangat menjadi masalahnya sekarang ialah, she is having toooooo much homework. And the teacher give her hw everyday! Yes, e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y.!!!! And the hw is like 2 pages of writing sentences, or 2-3 pages of maths (minus or plus calculation). So dia mcm langsung tak ada masa rehat. Or a day off. So sometime I mmg nampak dia mcm a lil bit stress. And I am also stress!!! Ya lah, sbb like everyday kena tngu dia buat homework. And tau je lah kan budak2 punya writing, punyalah lama nk siap. Bukannya dia pandai tulis laju-laju. Sebijik2 huruf dia nak tulis. Kadang2 yg herot petot nk kena erase dan tulis balik bg cantik. Kalau maths ok, cepat sikit dia buat. Sometime kalau yg writing tu bleh ambik masa smpai 2 jam woooo.... Alamat melepas la ibu nk tengok Sehangat Asmara huahuahua..
I tak nafikan that kindy mmg bagus klu nak ukur dari segi pencapaian akademiknya. Contoh paling jelas dapat dilihat pada Zuzu yang joined masa dah almost mid-year tahun lepas. And by the end of the year, dia mmg dh boleh menulis, mengira dan spelling yg simple2. At least boleh main eja n baca label2 makanan dan sebagainya.
Tapi yang I kurang berpuas hati, since sekolah bukak 2 January hari tu, tak pernah satu hari pun dia tak ada hw. Hari first mula2 sekolah start dh bg buku baca. And the next day sampai hari ni mmg full of hw! Even last Friday kan Zuzu MC sbb demam, still nk bagi replacement hw dia tu. Huhuhuhu....
I was thinking nak gi discuss sikit dgn principal dia. Is it mmg the silibus for 6 years mmg mcm tu punya banyak, or is it that particular teacher tu yang giat sgt nak kejar KPI dia or what. But I just don’t think that level of hw they giving is suitable for a 6-years-old. I need to reveal for my sweetheart happiness. I would like to suggest for more playful activity mcm main gunting2 kertas, buat collage, or origami or so. Takkan la asyik menuuuliiiiissssss memanjang teacher oiii.... Aku pun bleh tensen lagu ni!!!
Mmg ibu nak anak-anak ibu jadi pandai, but I want them to stay mentally and emotionally healthy too. Jangan buat main dgn stress kanak-kanak ni oooo..... This Saturday, I’ll be in the principal’s office.
